Help save Face !

This is Face

and this is his stupid Guardian Mario!

I used to like Mario until I saw how he treats his dogs. Face lives in a back yard shared with Morgaine. This Back yard has no fence so Face runs free; face also has no shelter and lives totally unprotected by the elements. Sometimes he is fed sometimes not his existence is miserable …

Face has a sister who also belongs to Mario she lives in a small oil barrel and is tied to a tree on a short chain. Of late Face has become aggressive, Kay who is boarding with Morgaine and will be living in one of the apartments ,until her and Tim’s pod is built on the property ,brought Ren out last night and Face attacked her without warning, she is ok but has cuts on her face and head 😦 Today face lunged at me from the bushes until he realised who I was. This cannot keep going on!

We have talked to Mario and he is always apologetic and polite but does absolutely nothing, we are sick of it! something bad is going to happen and someone is going to get hurt , we have kids running around on the property … If we call Animal control these Dogs will be taken and killed and we do not want this either. Right now Mutanthouse is full up with furries and at our absolute maximum capacity until things get better we cannot take Face or his sister who is unsprayed and going into heat (which means puppies are inevitable if we do not do something :P).

This is what we need we need two solid doghouses and fencing so we can build two kennels for face and his sister. We will need 2 tarps to create a roofed area as well. We also would like to start feeding the two because they are not being fed regularly but are struggling with food supply our selves. We want to see if we can get the Mobile vet to come out and give them their shots too because we know Mario has not vetted them 😦 but we do not have the funds to do so and might have to settle for making them comfortable and fed . Regardless of our own struggles we cannot stand blindly and just watch but we also cannot go over our capacity and compromise the life quality of our residents. We need your help! Mario will probably not agree to have Face’s sister spayed, we believe he might be breeding her and selling the pups. So we will have to grit our teeth and do what we can do.

If you are willing to help and can donate the needed items (we really would prefer this!) or would like to make a cash donations > the Face Fund http://mutanthouseproject.chipin.com/the-face-fund-help-get-doghouse-kennel-and-food-for-neglected-dog please do we need all the help we can get High point is flooded with unwanted, neglected and brutalised Furries , the good rescues (like Rufflove rescue > LIKE THEIR PAGE ! http://www.facebook.com/ruffloverescue & Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love LIKE THEIR PAGE ! http://www.facebook.com/GDFRL ) are full up and the shelters around here are executing fur kids on intake! Please help save or at least make life better for the suffering, pass on rescue and foster requests , donate to Rescues not kill shelters and ABOVE ALL SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR FURRIES !

Thoughts on mutanthouse

The last few day’s I have been letting some basic ideas go through my head on what I would like to accomplish , with mutant house. The basic premise is transforming and raping my house as the funding arises; so basically one small project at a time, as funds come in. The finished project, as I envision it, will combine some of the architecture of earth houses, with tree-houses, hanging gardens and the existing structure of my house. At some point I would like to open my home to people who would love to live and work on the project grounds. Of course I am in the imagining phase of the project, and things will be in flux for a while but these are some of the basic things I would like to eventually establish on the property.

1- Green house, vegetable garden, smaller in house gardens.

2- Water cistern, water capturing unites, Maybe dig a well, a two way water system, meaning a separate system for washing and potable water, coal filtering system.

3- Both wind and solar energy system, the solar systems incorporating both passive and active solar energy.

4- An outside haven for my dogs – dog playground, as well as a Cat garden for the local stay cats with little insulated houses for winter.

5- A play ground for the local kids and maybe a community garden for local kids in my neighbourhood.
6- A small vegan soup kitchen giving out one meal a day for local residents.

7- An in house recording studio, gallery, pottery workshop and carpentry work shop.
8- A swimming pool 🙂

9- Maybe a small school and rooms to be able to take in foster children.

10-Roof and wall gardens.

Now how this will develop will depend on how can find financing and how many people will join the project. If it is just me alone it might take years to accomplish, the more people are part of it the easier it will become to realise it.I am going to have to look into permits , see if the city will work with me on this ect. The thing is that if this project functions it might attract others who would like to establish similar projects in their struggling communities. If I fail, I fail, but it cannot hurt to try to get creative and try to establish a new way of living when the old one does not seem to work anymore.
There are dangers of course -communes /slash off the grid communities can often turn into volatile sects, but honesty and rigorous self monitoring might be able to keep those dangers at bay. The alternative is doing nothing, and that is not an option!
I will keep you all posted on future idea and progress 🙂

A little insight into the dream

As first course of action I am planning on working on the preliminary structure , then will progress to do an erthship add-on, as well as a series of interconnected tree houses . thew photograph of the  existing structure which is in a rude state of disrepair the painting is a first draft of  how the existing structure will look without the add-ons.

Transformation and birth of an Idea

This project was birthed out of a dark place.  I had been out of work for two years, struggling financially spiritually, emotionally. At some point I realized that if I wanted to get out of the deep dark pit I found myself in, I would have to regain a sense of purpose and interest in life in general. I also realised that our one family, white picket fence style of living has become hopelessly outdated in a society where one family alone often cannot facially survive.  Humanity has recognised that this planet can only be saved if we all pull together on a global scale, if there will be follow-through on that realisation who knows, sadly as individuals we cannot control the outcome. What we can control is our individual impact and behaviour.

So as I sat there moping I took a look around me and realised that while my house was in a rude state of disrepair, I still had land and a house  while others  did not . I had resources, there for a vintage point from which I could implement change.  After realising that my pit might not be as deep as perceived , I tried to crystallise the  main  things that are important to me as an individual  and found that  simplified  it summed up to the following , art , science , A love for animals , ecological consciousness, making a positive difference in other people’s lives,  creating something of value a legacy of sort. Slowly the outline of Mutant house evolved from this first initial spark, the ideas are still evolving and will transform organically as others join the project. As is Mutant house is for now a one woman project, and being such might take a while to accomplish. This here blog will follow the transformation of my house and property into a self-sustaining eco-earthship-tree-house-hybrid, for My Pets, visitors, myself and for those might later join me in this endeavour.

I have also decided to include occasional posts about my change of diet from vegetarian to vegan. I have an array of ailments and am conducting somewhat of a self experiment to see if a vegan diet will improve my health substantially, as it claimed by various sources.  The compassion factor of a vegan diet is defiantly a plus as is its impact on the reduction of global warming emissions.

So once again welcome to my little project which in my head is already a thriving self-sustaining artist colony , a sanctuary for both animals and people who find themselves wanting to crawl out of the pit and give  living another try . In these hard economic times we need to start looking at other options and become the change we are looking for.
