A little Help from our friends?

Dear friends and Supporters ❤

As most of you know what we do for the pooches and kitteh’s at Mutanthouse and those in the neighborhood comes out of our own pockets. Now we do get food donations for our animals (thank GOD and our Fairy DOGmother you know who you are) that help immensely but because we have a load of seniors and special needs pooches our vet bill is always up there. This year we have a especially aggressive flea season we tried to combat it with natural means such diatomaceous earth but it has failed miserably and we now have to roll in the big guns.

Without taking any of our normal vet costs in account the treatment for all our animals for fleas and ticks  runs at 600$ a month . If we include heart worm treatments for everyone and all the other standard cost we are up to about 1000$ a month in vet costs alone. This does not include the stocking up on wound dressings, antibiotics and other medications for emergencies and the fools living around us who refuse to vet their animals.

Right now money is really tight right now at Mutanthouse,  because we had so many unexpected costs in saving Titine and trying to save Little Captain Jack Sparrow, and we could really use some help from you guys. The few donations that we have gotten in the past really helped and any amount counts and makes a difference. So if you can Help Here is the link > https://www.wepay.com/donations/mutanthouse-support-fund

Physical donations like frontline for dogs and cats are also more than welcome and appreciated.

Thank you for your continued interest in our project.

Namaste

Alex ❤

State Of The Nation/Mutanthouse Update 2

Dear friends and supporters the Last month has been quite a ride. As you know we took in three new dogs. Kay and Tim took in Amyrah and I (Alex) took in Bhaaloo from the backyard breeder and dogfighter who lived next to us and thankfully got arrested, and little WiFi was rescued from a drug dealer Bhaaloo and Amyrah both have severe behaviour issues that we are working to resolve. Wifi is just a bundle of Joy!

(Amyrah)

Amyrah is beyond shy and terrified of men because her previous guardian beat his dogs. Kay has been working with her daily and it is slowly paying off. The little girl is coming out of her shell and now sometimes finds the courage to cuddle with her new dad Tim. We had a health scare with her thinking she might have distemper but it thankfully turned out to be a cold. Once again we faced a whopping vet bill but received help from donors (thank you so much) who cut it in half and our vet forfeited his own fee which made it doable considering it came out of Alex dwindling funds.

(Amyrah , with Kay and doctor Sink )

Our girl is now on antibiotics for her repertory infection, ointment for a rash on her flankand Benadryl for her allergies. She tested negative for heartworm which made us very happy; and we now have her on heartworm preventative to ensure it stays that way. We have a heartworm epidemic here in high point and we are not willing to take any risks. She is going to be spayed next week. Once again we would like to say thank you to all that have helped and supported us with this little lass 😀

(Bhaaloo)

Bhaaloo is friendly and outgoing but he is beyond hyperactive and very mouthy. His previous guardian was grooming him to fight so biting was encouraged. He needs a lot of attention and exercise because his enthusiasm has turned into aggression twice and we need to nip this behaviour in the bud. Our Zoe is a great help with that because they have become a natural match as you have seen in our videos.

(Zoe and Bhaaloo -one day my muddy prince will come 😛 Bhaaloo rolled in some unmentionable stuff but Zoe loves his new cologne 😛 )

The two love each other and Zoe who is loved by everyone who meets her (both animal and human) has the tendency to bring Bhaaloo’s best nature out of him.

(Zoe and Bhaaloo)

Still Bhaaloo needs more attention than I can do alone so Tim has been running him which seems to work really well. Eventually we want to get him on the treadmill because this boy make the energiser bunny look like a 80 year old couch potato 😛 Bhaaloo will need to go to the vet next month to be tested for heartworms if you want to help with his next vet bill or donate to our general veterinary fund here is the link >

Every penny is appreciated My (Alex) funds run out this month and I will not have anything until I find employment. With Kay’s health issues Tim is currently the only one working so we need all the help we can get.

(Wifi)

So now to little Wifi 😀
He is doing great growing like a weed. His injuries are fully healed and he is all round doing amazing. He got his second set of shots yesterday, and his first heartworm prevention pill.

Wifi is now 12 weeks old and 15 pounds heavy 🙂 He is such a blessing to have, very smart, calm in nature and very attentive. We think he might be a perfect candidate for a therapy dog if his temperament and demeanour remain the same. With my (Alex) MS he could eventually very well turn the tables and become the caregiver, if my condition worsens. We are also thinking of doing a sick child and elderly visitation program with him once he is grown and if he graduates from training 🙂 Since parvo is so prevalent in High point and the strains here so viciously deadly poor Wifi has not been out to play yet. Once he completes his last set of shots around January 1st we can wait to introduce him to the back yard. We think that Zoe and Moo will be the first to be allowed to play with him outside. Moo being his doggy foster mother will watch over him and Zoe is always up to playing when others are no fun 🙂

You guys might remember Siegfried and Roy. Roy was adopted into my (Alex) daughters house hold and is doing really well. Siggy had no such luck. He is a wonderful dog with People and submissive female dogs, but he fights everyone else. This is why we were unable to integrate hum in any of our three packs. We thought we had found a furever home with one of our friends and supporters T-ray from Atlanta. But unforeseen issues made it impossible for her to take him and the poor pooch has nowhere to go 😦 He deserves so much better than living isolated and alone so we are looking for a furever home for him or foster. He is a wonderful dog and as I said earlier he loves people but has issues with other dogs and cats. So it would be best that he find a home where he is the only pet. He is approximately 1.5 years old Neutered and up-to-date on his rabies. He needs a person who can devote a lot of time and energy to him, he is active and playful. If you are interested or can help please let us know.

Please help us protect the Mutanthouse Pooches from being poisoned!

Dear friends and supporters,
Here is a little update on what is happening right now at Mutanthouse.

We are currently having serious problems with some of our neighbours. These neighbours are targeting our dogs and we believe that Jubilee‘s illness, Luna’s death this year and Inara’s in 2009 are closely connected to their dealings. Our property is large and it is not always easy to detect possible poisoned or rotten food they throw over the fence before our pooches get to it. We desperately need to protect our animals and need to repair the fences and create a safe playground these people cannot breach. For this we want to seal off the middle part of the property with an 11 foot privacy fence, put in artificial turf so we can monitor and detect anything out of the ordinary. Right now our funds are totally maxed out, I (Alex) am funding the bulk of the project and my funds are going to run out in January.
So we would be happy for any help we can receive, if you have unwanted chain link and wooden privacy fences (6 feet or 11 feet high ) , we would be happy recipients , if you are able to donate funds to the cause there is a link here >

On a more positive note:

Little Wifi is doing really well he is going to the doctor on Friday to get his stitches removed and will get his next set of shots on the 30th. He is growing everyday and outgrowing his cloths seemingly every time we look at him 😉 He is now able to regulate his own body temp. But we are still keeping him extra warm 🙂

Little momma made the transition into the inside and is doing very well she also finally has her new name > Amyrah 😀 we will be barging her to the vet around the 30th for a general check-up , heartworm test ect; once we have the funds together.

Bhaaloo who as you see in all the videos is doing phenomenal, he and Zoe are inseparable and he is slowly learning to curb his energy somewhat. He will be going to the vet with Amyrah around the 30th for a check-up where he will be receiving his booster shots and will be checked for heart worms.

Our Moo who is heartworm positive 😦 will hopefully receive her treatment in January as soon as we can come up with the funds right now she is on slow treatment to at least minimise the damage.

Cassiopeia is now a full member of the Mew crew and has been fully accepted and has integrated well 😀 For a while she was very grumpy beating up on the boys who wanted to cuddle her, but she now gets along with everyone which warms our hearts 🙂

In the next weeks our vet costs are going to rise again and we would be very thankful for any help any of you could give us. If you would like to donate to our veterinary fund to help us keep all our elderly and special needs dog vetted and up to date you can find it here >
http://mutanthouseproject.chipin.com/mutanthouse-veterinary-fund

Or to little WiFi’s recovery fund >

We are thankful for any donation no matter how small…

If you cannot donate please pass this on…

If you have unwanted items you would like to donate to us we would be very thankful We need Dog and cat food, blankets toys, treats, cat little , scratch trees , building material , dog houses, fencing and netting , dog and cat care products are always very welcome and thankfully accepted. There are a lot of backyard dogs with no shelter in this neighbourhood so doghouses will provide them with better living conditions.

Please help Luna and Hariette get better!

This Month Two of our seniors are having health issues and will be needing veterinary care.
Our Luna who has been with me (Alex) since I rescued her in Berlin in 2001 and Little Harriette our little chi who was left behind by her former family and came to live with us a few months ago. Both girls are 12 years old Luna will be turning 13 in January and Harry had her Birthday this August.

Luna who is heartworm Positive and on medication for it has been losing her usual strong appetite, she is also slowly going blind. We are really worried about the loss of appetite so we will be bringing her to the vet after the weekend.Harriette has had blood in her Stool and needs to go as well.

While both are otherwise perky these signs are not to be ignored and we hope to avoid serious complications by going to the vet early. Because of the extensive vet bills for Jubilee, and the checkups for Malcolm and Ren our till is empty so if you feel you would like to contribute and help us here is the chip in to our veterinary fund

Update and renewed call for assistance with much needed veterinary care !

Hello Alex here , First of all I would like to thank those that have helped with saving our beloved Jubilee , She will make a full recovery , without your help the 1300 vet bill would have been unsurmountable- so thank you again between our 3 sponsors a good third of the bill was taken out of our hands ❤ thank you ❤

Jubilee has beaten the odds and will make a full recovery YAY!

Second I would like to introduce to you all Little Malcolm aka Mal who Kay found abandoned in a rainy parking lot 😦 at 8 weeks he has now become the youngest and newest Mutanthouse Resident . He will be joining Tim and Kay's pod and family unit ❤ Let's greet him properly 😀

Hello Malcolm welcome home 😀

Now to the uncomfortable stuff:P – Sadly we still have a boatload of procedures and follow-up care to deal with , Jubilee will still require medication for the next month and fluids, Kay’s new additions Mal and Ren need shots , Little Miss Harriette has not been feeling to well of late and I would like to have her checked out . Once Tim is down here we can finally transport Moobert to the vet for his much needed shots and his Stella and Sophia will need them too…. for now those are the most pressing issues but we still have some long term medical treatments that will need to be addressed.

winter is coming and Cassiopeia will need to be checked, vetted and finally brought in so we can end her transition from stray to full fledged Housemate. April MoonFlower aka Moo and Luna who are both heart-worm positive will need to go into treatment, Moo has fatty tumours that need to be operated , Moobert , Mooria and Romeo still need to be tested for heart-worm… since I (Alex ) have been doing all this on a very small budget since I lost my job in 2008 and Kay and Tim are just relocating and are not settled in yet we really could need help with all this…we would be thankful for any assistance you can provide no amount is to small.

There are two ways you can help us one call our veterinarian at high point veterinary clinic and say that you would like to make a donation toward our account which is under Alex’s name ( Alexandra von Streer Henderson ) .Telephone number is 336 889 3832 (if you are calling from outside of the U.S 0011 1 336 889 3832 ).

Or you can use our newly created Chip in http://mutanthouseproject.chipin.com/mutanthouse-veterinary-fund

Also physical donations of Dog and cat food, blankets toys, treats, cat little , scratch trees , building material , dog houses, fencing and netting , dog and cat care products are always very welcome and thankfully accepted. There are a lot of backyard dogs with no shelter in this neighbourhood so doghouses will provide them with better living conditions. One of those cases is face who is left outside by his guardian , he runs freely and has attacked both Ren and myself . he is not a bad Dog just Malnourished without a safe place and we would like to build him and his sister who is kept on a chain and lives in an oil barrel doghouses and fencing to protect ourselves and those poor pooches from harm .Please massage us on either

Call for Assistance

Dear friends and supporters of Mutanthouse as you know Mutanthouse is home to a lot of elderly furies from which one Jubilee is ailing from liver and kidney related issues, while she is getting batter the vet costs have become astronomical. Our current budget is slightly limited and we are facing an onslaught of vet costs in the next few months – a heartworm treatment and an operation for April Moonflower aka Moo, Shots and recovery care for Little miss trinity aka Wren, Romeo and Mooria Georgina, need to be tested for heartworm, Stella, Sophia and Moobert Oi all need their shots and it is fleas season so with 27 furies not including the local strays we are trying to assist there is a lot coming. Also although little Hariette teeth have recovered in our care one of them is sadly beyond redemption and will need to be removed. We have still not decided if we shall treat miss Luna for heartworm due to her advanced age but if she remains stable another $400 will be added to the bill..Then we have Cassiopeia our resident stray that we want to being into the house but first have to have evaluated and vetted..The list goes on and on …we would be thankful for any assistance you can provide no amount is to small.

Meet The New recruits :D

There has been a lot going on since I last updated Mutanthouse has gained new furry and human residents first to move in was little Hariette her family decided to start a new life and decided there was no more room for their companion of almost 12 years 😦 (Harry’s birthday is august 17th). Knowing that the little chi girl would most likely be put down in the pound Mutanthouse decided that there was room for another furry miss so say hello to miss Hariette 😀

The Next To Move in Where Kay and Tim and their fur babies who decided that Mutanthouse was the project for them 😀 Tim Is a Photographer and Master Barista Kay Is a Photographer, Professional Makeup artist, Vet tech and certified Dog trainer 😀 They Originally came with 3 pooches and 3 kittehs but on arrival adopted the recently orphaned miss trinity who we will meet later in the post.
Let’s say hello to them all 😀

this is Kay 😀

This is Tim 😀

This is Miss Stella

Miss Sophia

Sir Owen

Meet Baby Cat

Meet Lily cat

And Hansel

Now to our miss trinity also known as buttercup , trin , wren and little bit. When her former family moved to Florida they decided to leave this poor little 7 week old girl in the abandoned apartment to die:( she was left without water or food. Though coincidence we de sided to look at the apartment to see if it would be fit to house Tim and Kay while we build their space on the property. And there she was flea infested to the Point that her fur was moving, covered in sores and with a skin infection from the filth she was left in. We of course grabbed the little girl and Kay proceeded to feed her (she was famished and dehydrated) as I called our vet (Mutanthouse Hearts ❤ high Point veterinary clinic ).

It was soon clear that little bit was to be Kay’s baby and they bonded further during the wait at our vet’s

Trinity was a very patient and well behaved pup during her examination …she was weighed in at 7.3 pounds. Originally we thought she was German Shepherd Rottwiler but Kay pointed out that her feet are relatively small and that the second breed might be Mini pincher – what do you guys think ?

So for now Kay and Tim’s family is complete say hello to little miss trinity 😀

Here she is resting with her brother Owen ❤

Our little girl is expected to make a full recovery and she is already full of puppy goodness and spunk as if nothing ever happened 😀
